VILLANOVA — When folks think of the Spring-Ford girls basketball team, these are usually the images that first come to mind:
Star guard Sammy Stipa flying up and down the court.
Forwards Sarah Payonk and Shelby Mueller doing damage in the paint area.
Guard Brittany Moore knocking down 3-pointers and helping run the Rams’ lethal fastbreak.
So you can see why it’s pretty easy to overlook the other member of the splendid Spring-Ford starting five: Sammi Haas.
Friday night at the Pavilion, however, it was hard not to notice the blue-collar effort Haas provided in helping the top seeded Rams rout Mount St. Joseph Academy 51-30 and bring home their second straight District 1-AAAA championship.
