Now it’s in the hands of the Methacton and Pope John Paul II boys basketball teams to answer the issue of who will be the Pioneer Athletic Conference’s kingpin at this stage of the regular season.
The unbeaten division leaders will square off 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Methacton. The game pits squads whose successful runs — both 5-0 in their respective brackets, a combined 9-4 for the season — traverse contrasting tracks.
The Warriors (10-1) have compiled an eight-game win streak since their lone loss, a 51-43 setback to Souderton in mid-December. They’ve overrun opponents by big margins, only three of their victories decided by eight or fewer points; their closest game was Saturday’s duel with Pottstown, a 67-62 victory for the Warriors.
