GRATERFORD — Two-time defending Pioneer Athletic Conference champion
Owen J. Roberts began a big eight-day stretch of league competition on
Wednesday night at Perkiomen Valley, and the Wildcats knew it was time
to step things up a bit.
And that’s just what they did, coming out
wrestling aggressively right from the start and racking up seven pins
in a 52-14 win over the Vikings, who fought hard to take three close
decisions and a pin of their own in the other seven bouts.
Gordon
Bolig, Nick DeAngelo, Aston White, Derek Gulotta, Alec Pupo, Dominick
Petrucelli and Peter Fratantoni all won by falls for OJR (2-0, 7-0
overall), which will host Boyertown and Pottsgrove this weekend and
travel to Spring-Ford next Wednesday. Nick Giangiulio stayed undefeated
for PV (1-1, 6-2), by taking the premiere matchup of the night in
overtime against Adam Moser.
