BOYERTOWN — Souderton’s night began with defensive standout Colby Johnson getting a rare rushing touchdown, and it finished up with football newcomer Peter Shupuli, who recently moved to the area from Greece, booting extra points.
The Indians got just about everybody involved in many different ways as they earned a resounding 49-27 win Friday evening over Boyertown in the season finale for both squads.
“It just means a lot, because I love my seniors and they deserve to go out with a win,” said 6-2, 296-pound junior tackle/defensive tackle Ricky Young. “Knowing it was the last time I was gonna get to play with my buddies, I just wanted to leave it all on the field.”
While Young recorded multiple tackles for losses and contributed to a 35-0 halftime lead for Souderton (7-4), the Big Red offense kept gaining yards in big chunks and enforced the mercy rule by halftime.
