ROYERSFORD — After seeing Methacton’s inside duo of Kelsey Watson and Jenna Carroll wreak havoc on Boyertown’s girls basketball team in a 29-point rout five days earlier, Bears coach Jason Bieber did his best to ensure there would be no repeat performance Thursday night.
The good news for Bieber and the Bears was that their 3-2 zone defense kept Watson and Carroll under wraps for the most part.
The bad news, however, was that it opened the door for a prime-time effort from junior guard Kelly Glatthorn.
Glatthorn scored a season-high 18 points, including the go-ahead basket with 2:50 left, as the Warriors came away with a hard-fought 61-58 victory at Spring-Ford in a one-game playoff for second place in the Pioneer Athletic Conference’s Liberty Division and resultant PAC-10 Final Four berth.
