ROYERSFORD — Though they each made key contributions as freshmen three years ago, Spring-Ford’s Sarah Payonk, Brittany Moore, Courtney Hinnant and Sammi Haas didn’t get to experience the Pioneer Athletic Conference Final Four playoffs because the Rams didn’t qualify.
As sophomores, the foursome found itself tantalizingly close to a PAC-10 title before suffering a heartbreaking three-overtime defeat to Boyertown in the final.
Instead of wondering what might have been, Payonk, Moore, Hinnant and Haas dug deeper and used those aforementioned near-misses to fuel the future.
And since then, the quartet hasn’t tasted defeat in 30 games against PAC-10 compeition.
Wednesday night, Payonk, Moore, Hinnant and Haas were at the forefront as Spring-Ford brought home its second straight PAC-10 championship with a 53-23 victory over Liberty Division rival Methacton at Ram Gymnasium.
