There’s always a lull before the storm, or so the saying goes. And if anyone is aware of (or weary of) the old adage it’s Perkiomen Valley head coach Scott Reed.
The Vikings, who have bounced back from a season-opening loss to highly touted Plymouth-Whitemarsh with four straight wins, are sitting alongside Pottsgrove atop the Pioneer Athletic Conference standings. They also happen to be sitting at No. 9 (alongside Pennridge) in the District 1-AAAA playoff points standings.
That isn’t all that surprising, at least to a lot of Reed’s contemporaries. When camp opened back in August, most of those coaches predicted Perkiomen Valley to be among the league’s contenders this season.
