Berks Catholic 40, Pope John Paul II 21

UPPER PROVIDENCE — Mike Santillo couldn’t have agreed more that the negatives outweighed the positives in Pope John Paul II’s season opener Saturday afternoon.
Even though the Golden Panthers didn’t turn over the football, picked up 238 of their 323 total yards and scored all three of their touchdowns in the second half, it wasn’t enough.
Just not enough to offset a slew of mistakes in the first half.
Nowhere near enough to get the best of visiting Berks Catholic in a 40-21 loss.
“A tale of two halves,” Santillo said.
