GRATERFORD — The lights were bright and emotions were high as the
2012 high school football season kicked off Friday night across the
area.
A non-league tilt for Perkiomen Valley and visiting Plymouth
Whitemarsh gave both teams a good idea as to where they are after
several weeks of practice in preparation for the season.
Both team
struggled early on to find a rhythm offensively, but the Colonials late
drive capped a fourth quarter rally to overcome the Vikings, 20-16.
Terry
Brown and Corey Kelly each rushed for 130 yards for the Colonials,
including Kelly’s game-winning plunge from two yards out with 2:38 left
to play.
