FRANCONIA — After four seasons, the Souderton football team finally got its season off to a positive start.
Anthony
Williams ran for two touchdowns, while Kyle Wenger made two
interceptions — including taking one back 95 yards for a score — as the
host Indians rolled past visiting Methacton, 35-0, in Friday night’s
Week 1 non-league contest.
“The kids really came out and they had a
good mindset from the start,” Souderton coach Ed Gallagher said. “They
were focused and they took care of business.”
Jarrett Reinhard and
Jon Horton both found the end zone on the ground as the Indians scored
21 points in the second quarter to lead the Warriors 28-0 at halftime.
The season-opening victory is the first for Souderton since it bested
Neshaminy, 14-13, in 2008.
